Moodle™. Send a welcome message to students in a course.
Do you want your students to receive a welcome message when they start their course on your Moodle™ platform? At the time of writing this, there is no immediate way to do this that does not depend on the enrolment method, but there is a mechanism/trick that performs the same function.
It is a plugin called "Dialogue", designed so that you can communicate directly with each student of the course. In our opinion with this plugin you can achieve two interesting objectives:
- Welcome each student in a personal way, regardless of the time or enrolment method.
- And, on the other hand, it initiates personal communication between the student and the teacher, in a way "ice is broken"
To use it you have to do three things:
- Install the plugin Dialogue, from the central repository of plugins of Moodle. You will find it here: https://moodle.org/plugins/mod_dialogue
2.- Once installed you already have it available to add it as an activity to the courses in which you want to apply them, that is, the courses in which you want to welcome the students.
3.- Afterwards you will have to configure the welcome message you desire.
